What do teachers say about this resource? (8538)

Excellent resource... The mind maps are both clear and comprehensive. Lots of key information, and all links well to the AOs required to be a very good student aid. I particularly liked the layout, and how there is a detailed and comprehensive set of notes for every poem, as well as a very clear mind map. Use of the mind maps alone will really aid timed writing, encouraging students to focus on the key elements, and ensuring there is focus on language, as well as structure. Invaluable for revision. Very clear and accessible.

N Phillips, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

I like the resource and think there are plenty of higher level ideas that can help students further understand the core poems for the spec... I like that each poem covers the same ideas so there is a constancy and familiarity for students. The detail for some of the poems is particularly high level and pushes pupils to engage with the higher concepts for the poems... This would work really well if the teacher wants pupils to access the poems independently. In particular I would possibly set this as cover work, or as catch up for any pupils who might has missed the lesson. It would also be helpful for planning lessons.

A detailed and quality resource which would prove beneficial to students studying the Edexcel qualification... I like the duel information approach for notes and mind maps... I'd definitely use this for revision with my students. The analysis is quality and detailed and would really help to consolidate learning that has taken place in the classroom. The students I showed [it to] really liked the fact that the poems were discussed in bite-size chunks and broken down into topics for them. K Lindsey, Teacher and Independent Reviewer

I thought the overall concept of mind maps was useful. All the basic information about the poem is contained on one page, and the inclusion of questions to encourage students to think is a good idea... The layout is clear and concise. It is easy for students to follow and doesn’t overwhelm or appear off-putting... I liked the simple yet effective way that the information is presented... This resource gives [students] a handy revision sheet to refer to.
