An Inspector Calls: Activity Pack for CCEA GCSE

A memorable play first performed in a memorable year, 1945, An Inspector Calls deals with issues of responsibility, class structure and social duty. Find stimulating work at any time with this pack of engaging activities. Plus! End-of-act mini-essay challenges practise vital planning, structuring and writing skills, and prepare students for a range of exam-style questions.

Activities include:
  • Insightful questions
  • Stimulating reading and writing tasks
  • Pair and group work
  • Spoken language and SPaG practice
  • Creative activities for visual and kinaesthetic learners
  • Appealing tasks based on modern media

Carefully considered structure develops understanding:

  1. Build a foundation for learning and get students interested with introductory pre-reading exercises.
  2. Dig deeper with text-based activities. Every scene is explored through a range of thought-provoking tasks.
  3. Consolidate knowledge with whole-text activities focusing on: setting, props, characterisation, and more!

The fantastic structure makes the pack accessible for your whole class – differentiation is built in. An ideal complement to the Study Guide for this text.

What do teachers say about this resource? (8315)

An excellent resource... It was a breath of fresh air... I particularly liked that it was up to date regarding sensitive issues... There were also extension activities, thus allowing differentiation... It enhances learning by providing such a variety of fun but educational activities that even the most reluctant learner is likely to become engaged. Its educational value is to cover the whole text in an ordered manner so that the fun does not take precedence over acquisition of knowledge and skills... The presentation/layout is imaginative... It matches the specification very well leaving no part of the play unaddressed.
