What do teachers say about this resource? (6653)
A good range of activities and variety of tasks. The content is well suited to A Level students and there is a clear focus on the writers’ methods and effects... The variety of worksheets will allow for a range of homework tasks to extend student learning and progress... The contextual tasks at the start are thorough and really useful for students to get a grip on Fitzgerald...The questions provided for each chapter are purposeful and clear. They encourage a high level of thinking and because they are often split up relating to sections of the text, it allows for differentiated teaching methods... The suggested answers are really useful for differentiation and supporting students at the weaker end. They allow for scaffolding and modelling and will save a great deal of teacher time.... I want to thank the author for the work that has gone into this!
On the whole I was very impressed by the way in which the resource responds to the different assessment objectives of the new A level specifications. In particular I felt that whilst providing a range of activities to engage all pupils there was sufficient stretch and challenge in the activities to enable the most able to access the highest grades. One of the best Zigzag A level resources I have seen.
A superb resource. Very accessible for a range of students. I loved the varied tasks and activities. There was a vast range of ideas and the answers section was particularly good.
It's excellent. Thorough, creative, detailed, imaginative - everything you'd ever need to teach the text in full! I really liked the pre-reading tasks. Images of the covers, considering the connotations of the word “great”, time lines, study of setting – so much to choose from to get the pupils engaged with the text before they start to read. There are 40 pages of teacher’s answers and notes. These, too, may benefit the pupils, as they seek to peer or self-assess their work.
