What do teachers say about this resource? (5698)
Non-fiction can tend towards being dry and uninteresting but because of Anne Frank’s style of writing, the subject matter is enhanced. This is an extremely comprehensive and well-put together SOW, which considers all aspects of teaching and learning and ensures that the teacher is well-prepared for teaching in the classroom. There is more material here than you could possibly cover with one class so there is more than enough to dip in and out of according to your own tastes and your classes abilities. I particularly like the fact that the author has considered HOW to teach the subject matter through the helpful teacher notes and the fact that the author has included a good raft of historical source material to provide context for the Anne Frank story, and to provide a useful cross-curricular focus.
It includes a wide range of writing within the scheme and is planned in detail. With the new curriculum coming in it will save staff on planning time. The subject has been well researched and multimedia resources are ready to use.
The SOW mapping will save time for departments who need such documentation. It clearly covers many of the objectives of the new curriculum.
