What do teachers say about this resource? (4187)
Really excellent. Thorough and well pitched – brilliant starting point... It is clear which activities are suited to Higher + Foundation. Great range of flexible activities that can be altered to suit the class. [Matches] WJEC [specification] perfectly.
This resource is excellent in terms of coverage of the text: characters, themes and plot are all covered really well. I really liked: the links to the AOs throughout, the Higher/Foundation differentiation table, the variety of activities. I can definitely see that this resource would enhance learning. The activities seem to have been carefully scaffolded to build on the students' increasing knowledge, and there is a clear 'end goal' of the essay kept in mind throughout too... This clearly links well to the GCSE specification, and there is an especially clear focus on language analysis, which is good as this is often a weak point for students. A well researched and put together resource; the author's expertise and knowledge of the text are clear.
On the whole I thought the resource was very good. It will be particularly useful for students, and teachers new to the text... I particularly liked the variety of tasks... The whole-text questions are excellent, particularly as there are questions for the different exam boards that are using the text. Study guides are available free online, but they do not match this resource for detail or scope.
Well written with good subject knowledge shown... Activities well cross-referenced to the AOs.
The detail is so finely tuned and organised that it works out as a neat, compact go-to guide.
The differentiation table is also handy for a quick overview of suitable tasks. The AOs are clear and very accessible for the students to read and understand what is required of them.
