What do teachers say about this resource? (3809)
I thought this was an excellent resource with many features that would make teaching this text much easier and manageable. This resource introduces and discusses the key themes, context and tone of the play in a way that can help teachers find a way into the text and open it up to relevant discussion and analysis. I liked the excellent literary comment and analysis, particularly in the section 'Political satire in Miller's Introduction Comparing two Americas'. I thought it provided a very useful starting point for pupils in literary criticism. I also liked the way the analysis is broken down to key events in the action, ie 'The Witch-finders Enter', 'The Tale is Told' and 'The calling out'.
Excellent. This is very thorough and informative. The parallels of the play to the social and historical context throughout are consistent and in my opinion accurate. I liked the way that the resource was broken down into manageable sections. This is a long play and the sections were carefully considered. This resource has excellent information on the context as well as a good introduction to the main themes. It explains many of the references which enhances understanding of the play.
