What do teachers say about this resource? (1629)
This resource is quite simply outstanding! It is clearly written by a talented professional with excellent subject knowledge and a fantastic understanding of the types of activity that engage students. All the tasks are linked to valuable learning objectives so that although it is an ‘activity pack’, it still focuses on what the students are learning rather than just work for them to do. The author’s subject knowledge on the novella shines through and would be incredibly useful to any teacher, especially those who are not familiar with the novella. This resource fully matches my interpretation of the specification and would be a highly valuable asset to any school introducing this specification.
Carefully considered and effective ... I like the resource a lot. Differentiation for a lot of the tasks means that this resource would work well across the full range of students. The format is easy to follow; the list of tasks highlights which AO is being addressed in each case, thus allowing the teacher to ensure a full coverage of the text. It’s a very well-thought-out resource.
A useful tool for covering the key aspects of the text: pre-reading activities provide a secure introduction to context and ideas within the text, which are then built on throughout each stave. The scaffolding used throughout is particularly effective. There is a strong focus on interpretation and close language analysis throughout, with technical terminology used to support.
