What do teachers say about this resource? (12298)

A very comprehensive, considered and well thought through resource. The writer is clearly knowledgeable of both the history of English Literature generally and knows the AQA A Level syllabus inside out. I liked the focus on addressing gaps in student knowledge which I thought could be used particularly well for flipped leaning / homework tasks. Really like the lesson suggestions and starter tasks as they allow for ‘off the shelf teaching’ and will be useful to new A Level teachers in the department... I liked that fact that the writer continually reinforces exam technique and the requirements of the AOs throughout as this is so important for student success. I love the record grids because they encourage and allow for opportunities of self-reflection and consolidation and I can see me using these every lesson as a plenary task or for homework... This would be a very useful addition to our existing A Level teaching resources. The exemplar questions alone are worth the investment. Well done to the author – this must have been a massive undertaking to pull all of this together and is worthy of commendation!

A supportive resource... I imagine it being a great help to any teachers who may feel uncertain about some aspects of the course... Great care has been taken to present in-depth, complex information in a clear and methodical style... Contains very good advice which would be especially useful to students who struggle with this aspect of the course... [The Practice Questions] are a brilliant part of the resource. I especially appreciate the depth and variety in the questions. This provides a valuable set of questions which will give the students wide-ranging experience of exam-style work... The blend of complexity and clarity throughout this resource as a whole means it is accessible to a range of abilities at A Level. I think it is sometimes overlooked how students can struggle at this level, and this resource is a very good blend of the information and skills needed with advice and guidelines on how students can apply their own knowledge in their classroom work, revision and the exam... It fulfils the needs of the curriculum, encouraging the students to expand their knowledge beyond simply working towards and revising for the exam so that, if they follow this resource, they will be extremely well-prepared for this part of the exam... A wonderful resource with a methodical and supportive approach.
