What do teachers say about this resource? (11489)
A very flexible and professional looking resource. It covers everything the teacher needs to know to use the resource to its full potential... What is expected from each task is well explained and would be easy for the learner to understand. It is broken down into easy to use sections for each task.... The Teacher’s Introduction is excellent. It gives background to the exam boards it could be suitable for and explains the theory and benefits of Flipped Learning. This is excellent for NQTs and teachers not familiar with this style of teaching/learning as it explains both theory and practice... It also signposts the different exam boards and specifications nicely... Tasks are varied, visually appealing and easy to read and fill in... It can be adapted to all learning styles and types. It encourages student autonomy and curiosity... It really familiarises the learner with aspects of deeper study (i.e. university). The resource is also self-differentiating which allows teachers to pick and choose where to stretch and challenge... This would be a key resource to have for the English department to draw from.
A very high quality pack which is thorough, accurate and well structured … It really encourages independent learning … Support is provided for less able students whilst challenge activities stretch more able… Example exam questions and plans are really helpful… I really like the critical reading logs – the focused questions mean students can work independently in a meaningful way and the column where they can ask questions will facilitate interesting discussions in the classroom… I really like this pack and would definitely use it with my A Level class.
Useful, engaging and well-suited to developing student knowledge... A highly detailed resource pack with relevant aspects of the play's narrative, key moments in the play, character interactions, themes and contextual links covered in depth... The critical reading log with prompt questions are helpful in guiding students to reflect on the key moments within the scene and the use of the column with "follow up questions" is also helpful as it prompts the students to consider that there is always something more to investigate... The use of examples for each task models for students what is expected of them... There are a range of different activities that could be picked from to use in each act... I like the varied questions for each of the extract for each Act to accommodate each specification in relation to the same extract... It is useful to see indicative content for teachers for most of the tasks to offer guidance for each task as a point of reference... [The resource] inspires scholarship and independent tasks that help develop their knowledge. It also helps to build on key ideas and looks at extending beyond the main elements that would be focused on in class. It enhances the understanding students would have and directs them in clear lines of development that would aid their overall understanding and ability to engage with Othello.
A really excellent, comprehensive resource that details very clearly an accessible way for students to approach and engage with the text... Its flipped nature putting the onus on students to prepare for classes would I am sure result in much richer in-class discussions - and they're more likely to remember content too. A real win... A really high standard resource...
