With high drama, complex characters and supernatural elements, Macbeth has long been a student and teacher favourite. Evaluate the intricacies that ensure this short seventeenth-century play still has pertinence for modern readers.

What do teachers say about this resource? (11187)
Each mindmap gave an excellent review of sections of the play and could be used as knowledge reviews whilst going through a text or at the end of a text and for revision purposes.
I loved the quick activities and different questions on each mind map and how they related to the play as a whole. I thought each mindmap acted as excellent retrieval practice and could be used to support teachers by giving them a framework to tackle a scene or a character.
The educational value of this resource lies in the benefit to the pupil. If they engage with these mindmaps and complete the activities they cannot but help be ready to face any question in the exam. The mindmaps give them excellent structured revision tasks and questions that highlight the main areas of knowledge and signpost analysis and embedding of context.
[This resource] gives exactly the right balance of knowledge of the text as a whole alongside analysis and contextual understanding. I really appreciated how each mindmap identified key quotations and sections of the text that are crucial for understanding the play as a whole.
An excellent resource which would give teachers instant revision activities that were designed to test their pupils' knowledge and also prepare them for any assessment.
An excellent resource which will enable learners of all abilities to revise Macbeth... The range of ideas covered really helps students... I love the range of activities – from quotation finding to analysis... I really like how much content is displayed in such a neat and ordered way... I could see this being used both in a first teaching and in revision. What I particularly like is that I could use this with all abilities and feel confident that it would support my teaching and their revision.
A clearly structured and detailed resource that will be easy for students to follow.
Engaging materials that allows students to revisit key scenes and focus on characters/themes/language/context in focused and accessible ways.
Very helpful - especially for organising and condensing key ideas enabling learners to recall essential information.
A thorough, well written, and well designed resource. It covers all scenes of the play, as well as key themes, characters, and contextual points.
The writer knows this play well, and has created a resource which will be suitable for students of all levels.
I particularly like how the mind maps are not formulaic: the writer has used different mind maps for different scene based on what suits the topic best. This is engaging and easy to learn from.
There are numerous applications for this- revision, cover lessons, recap lessons after learning the scene, and homework. If I were to use it, I would use it as a homework: requesting students read then answer the questions and correct in a different colour pen. This would be an effective homework task with minimal marking.
A great resource.
I can see it working with a year 10 group prior to GCSE study... I can see that it would be useful to new teachers or those wanting ready made resources for homework... I liked its detail... It very much tests students knowledge as they go along... Student friendly.
