What do teachers say about this resource? (10755)

A good resource that effectively prepared pupils for the unseen prose section of this part of the examination. The texts and extracts were carefully chosen to highlight and give pupils examples of the major tropes within dystopian fiction... The extracts gave comprehensive coverage of the genre. I liked how each extract was then accompanied by a further extract from the same text with development questions that pupils could tackle by themselves having looked at the first extract with more support... The educational value of this resource lies in its clear focus on how to respond to dystopian unseen extracts: this was clear and evident throughout the entire resource, and there were clear and focused questions and activities throughout that helped pupils towards this goal... The resource could easily be given out to pupils as a supplementary pack to either support weaker pupils or develop more able ones. The activities consistently encouraged pupils to engage with the unseen extracts and relate them to their knowledge of the dystopian genre and relevant contextual factors... I appreciated the thought and care that had gone into this resource.

Really well researched and incredibly clear.

The author has clearly worked hard to ensure their detail is correct and they have obviously got a clear understanding of each text involved.

[The resource] accurately considers the balance between the AOs in terms of marking.

There is a range of excellent detail - the timeline, for instance, included, had great ideas about grouping and context based on these groupings. I would certainly use this in a school setting,.

The Mary Shelley extract and analysis is great!

The glossary, exam practice and mark scheme are clear, detailed and specific. The indicative content is clear.

A valuable practical resource.
