What do teachers say about this resource? (9822)
The structure, layout, and thoughtful overview were considerate enough to identify the rationale and personal touch of previous teachers ... the update to Module 4 (Secure Code) is a direct result of examiner reports. It is very efficient, and in fact, this is the most helpful resource to date ... a very well-liked resource that focuses on the skills needed. I even think that Module 1 itself acts as a buffer task between Year 11 and starting the T-Level (so it has a link to core competencies—thinking of the Python questions). If the candidates are confident dealing with text-based languages, they can easily transition to Module 2 when HTML is used. Then, it can be revisited in time by using Matplot and Panda ... it is excellent, and the presentations and code samples help teachers who may struggle with the transition from pseudocode/basic programming to T-levels focusing on Python, JS, and SQL ... the coverage of criteria 6.1 and 6.2 is solid, and Module 5 further welcomes it ... It has massive educational value! Building confidence in the Module and building the fundamentals helps achieve an E grade (36/90) with some write-up to satisfy the shift from below expectations to good (if pertinent to the set project).
The resource supports the key focus on the skills needed rather than pushing the skills into a random project. It has a set pace and project fundamentals, which students can easily refer to as a revision aid.
... The module flow is solid using the presentation and workbook, especially the mark sheets specific to each task. It also shows AfL, which is fundamental to any observation that a student can access ... The module flow exceeds what is expected in 6.1, which is excellent
This is a fantastic resource with some great ideas... the idea of using a game [shop] will help engage students and make the project more appealing to them. There are a wide range of programming and development activities included with adequate scaffolding to enable students to complete the tasks ... it provides a good coverage of the programming skills required. It also considers the skills and knowledge required for the Occupational Specialism as well as the Employer Set Project, where there is a significant lack of quality resources available at present ... I think this resource is very comprehensive and will certainly help fill a huge gap in the available resources. It provides good support for students to develop their programming skills in Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS ... this resource covers a lot of content from the ESP and OS parts of the specification, specifically concerning the programming skills required
Some really good ideas ... I liked the scaffolded lessons which clearly develop skills over a period of time
