What do teachers say about this resource? (11054)
A very useful guide. Covers all skills, directly linked to the skills and papers required. Each one of the topics is represented, which makes up for an excellent extension material, useful not only for Year 2 but also for Year 1.
This resource takes students beyond the exams and provides opportunities for independent approach to studies. Translation tasks are interesting and touch upon the cultural content of the topics. Excellent advice, fully tailored to the topic and the spec.
Some activities include a vocab search task which make it accessible enough. The section of prepositions is most useful. The quizzes are an excellent way to consolidate skills and knowledge and identify any weak areas or misconceptions; it helps that they are quick and easy to (self-)mark. Reference to the assessment objectives and the exam style are useful.
Well done, a very well crafted and useful resource, a huge amount of thought, care and skill has been put in it.
On the whole I think it is a great resource with lots of useful advice, exercises and information for students to succeed in the A level exam.
Throughout the resource there are lots of useful activities, usually with the right level of difficulty and in which relevant vocabulary and grammar structures are used. I love especially units 4 and 5, in which students have the opportunity to learn useful strategies if they get stuck (something quite common) , learning sentences that can be used for fluency.
I also like the Skills development section throughout the resource, such as the one on page 46 in which students have to present and discuss about a given topic in pairs.
The exam-style questions are usually very good, for example the one on page 51 in which students prepare for the independent research task.
It offers students great opportunity to give them confidence in tackling all the parts of the exam. It is a great resource for the higher end of ability students

Answers to tasks are well structured. Solid use of language enabling teachers and students to use them as language models for speaking and writing.
Reading and writing units are solid linguistically and challenging. It provides good examples in the answers which can help students guide their writing and comprehension.
What do teachers say about this resource? (9538)
A well-structured resource. The areas chosen to focus on are well chosen as the key areas that are needed to gain an A/A* at A Level. Would be very useful to higher ability pupils on the whole. Excellent listening activities in the style of exams and at an appropriate level of challenge which mirror what they face in the real exam.
What do teachers say about this resource? (9529)
It offers sound advice on how to improve the level of both spoken and written language along with good pointers to exam techniques. I like that it is targeted on improving performance in general as well as in exams and it does face most language issues full on in a bold fashion where some resources are sometimes apologetic about dealing squarely with sometimes difficult issues.
