[Would you purchase this resource for your teaching?] Yes, I would buy it as it would save me lots of time. It provides valuable practice for students in their preparation for the new AS exams. I like the fact that the resource analyses in great detail relevant vocabulary and themes. It is something that I would definitely use to enhance my own teaching and to give students access to different resources that can be used for the new specification.
Invaluable timesaver for teacher and student alike! A really useful resource for pupils as independent learning prior to using the vocabulary in class activities, especially for speaking. A wide variety of really clear exercises can be worked on individually and at the student’s own pace – self, teacher or peer assessment is possible.
There is a lot of topic-specific vocabulary and grammar points. [...] I like the current cultural references and the integration of translation and prose exercises.
What do teachers say about this resource? (12235)
On the whole I like the resource as it has plenty of grammar, vocabulary and cultural activities for students to practise their Spanish language skills in preparation for their A Level exams. I like the Grammar recap sections, team activities (game-like activities which encourage competitiveness amongst students and help them to learn in a more relaxed way) and use of mindmaps.
Brilliant, it is absolutely fantastic, one of the best resources to practise vocabulary, grammar and reading skills that I have seen I years. It works the vocabulary progressively, starting with individual words and definitions and really supports consolidation of grammatical structures. The last few activities of each section are more open-ended tasks and support a more creative approach. Some activities require deep knowledge of vocab & grammar but there is a balanced with easier multiple choice activities that cater for the less able. The Team activities have great potential to be used as retrieval activities or with the language assistant. Instructions are issued in the target language. I really like activities where students need to think whether an aspect is a positive or negative aspect, it promoted thinking and evaluation skills. The language used is complex and includes relative pronouns, passive voice and subjunctive structures throughout. The reordering activities are very helpful to get students thinking about logical word order in Spanish. The activities where students need to spot the error are really good practice for self-checking in the translation task. The texts are good exam practice and contains up to date cases and facts.
