What do teachers say about this resource? (7861)

An incredibly well-informed guide which matches the specification fabulously! The author clearly knows this text inside out and has devoted a great deal of time to ensuring accuracy in the ideas presented. I haven't seen a resource this good in a long time! The AOs are clearly and effectively tracked all of the way through... The focus on the structural devices and narrative techniques is excellent - students really struggle with how to fulfil this element of AO2... The explorations are flooded with academic details about the characters etc... The essay questions are excellent... The critical receptions are excellent as this is the kind of information that students frequently overlook... A superb resource of the absolute highest quality. I will be purchasing one of these as soon as it is published! This really is a cracker!

An excellent resource. Well laid out... Good breadth of sections. Critical reception is useful... Interesting tasks... Vocabulary / terminology good for extension... Good links to wider reading, both critical and other fiction. Very detailed. Contextual insights are useful too... Links in well to AOs, and prepares students for extended close analysis... Very useful.

N Phillips, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

A lovely resource, structured clearly with AOs mapped across the various specifications. The different sections are incredibly detailed and include ample information for students, but also new teachers to this text. For example, I am new to teaching Wuthering Heights and I have learnt a tremendous lot from this resource which extended my understanding... I like the definitions at the end of each section and links to AOs. This is particularly useful as it demonstrates that AOs don't work in isolation but need to be considered as a cohesive in order to demonstrate sophisticated analysis... The discussion prompts really scaffold deeper interpretation of the themes, characters and motifs. These are really high level and offer the higher-end students an element of stretch beyond the already sophisticated interpretation offered in the guide... It is structured to offer interpretations at AO level but then brings everything together.
