Getting to know... La misma luna
Ready-to-use research tasks, worksheets, background information and practice exam questions ensure comprehensive understanding of contemporary issues affecting Latin and North American societies in this film directed by Patricia Riggen (2007).
Well done, a fabulous resource, I can’t wait to use it!
AS and A Level students will get to know La misma luna inside out and be fully prepared for the writing exams.
Written specifically for the 2016 specifications, the logical structure offers the ideal balance between guided classwork and independent research:
- Before: Introductory tasks enable students to understand the background of the film, the title, the director and the actors, as well as issues such as poverty in Mexico and deportation.
- During: A comprehensive work-through of the film. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the film by analysing the characters and their relationships, themes, locations and film techniques.
- After: Students work on their own version of the film. Exam-style practice questions, model essays and indicative content help students to apply what they have learnt – and refine exam technique!

Well done, a fabulous resource, I can’t wait to use it!
Great resource to have. I like the fact that the resource is divided into three sections, so it is possible to teach the film chronologically or focus on topics if need be. It will help students to have a very good understanding of the film, but I also like the fact that it develops other skills necessary for A level through e.g. reading and translation exercises.
