What do teachers say about this resource? (7176)

The idea of using podcasts as a springboard for debate was very good. The topics discussed were all stimulating and would give the students opportunity to explore a range of interpretations and contexts (AO3 and AO4). I also thought that the range of activities to link the texts (AO4) was good... The range of discussion points was good and the variety of activities was good, I liked that as well as traditional writing tasks, paragraphs and essay plans there were also suggestions for mind maps, tables etc. I liked that the tasks could be used in a number of different ways, I could see that I would use the podcasts in class and use the activities as discussion points in class or as homework. I also liked that the whole podcast could be set as a homework task... Podcast 6 was particularly interesting with its exploration of settings - this is an interesting topic and one that students need to explore more... I also thought that Podcast 1 on structure was a useful one and the idea of linking exploration of structure in Jane Eyre to other texts was very pertinent... It enhances learning by directly addressing the AOs that many students find difficult. It has suggested answers at the back and these could also be used for discussion in class.
