The aim: Students search out their own data, paste it into the booklet and respond to the prompts by performing a variety of analytical exercises. They will gain a wider experience of data types and contexts, and apply and practise what they have learned in class to enhance independent working.

I really love this resource and I cannot wait to get students using it. This is JUST the sort of thing I’ve been looking for to support Y12 when they start the course. I will also be using this for Y13’s summer work! I love the ingenuity of this resource – the fact that it gets students actively engaging with real-life language use is excellent. It starts students off well for independence which is crucial on this course... This encourages independence and engagement with language right from the start of the course for Y12. A useful resource which would be suitable as an ongoing homework project throughout the academic year. It encourages and promotes independent study, which all A-level students must do outside of lessons if they are to achieve a good grade at the end of the course. The exemplar texts are very helpful for students as they provide a visual representation of what their own work should look like... The advice given to students is very useful... The scaffolded examples are very useful and clear... The resource promotes independent study and encourages students to take ownership for their learning... This resource matches the A-level English Language specification well, as all activities and content are directly relevant to the specification and examination papers and the content included is what students do need to know in this A-level course. All tasks are accessible and provide very important guidance for students.
