- Carefully written, authentic and compelling stories broken into six manageable chapters
- Differentiated exercises covering a wide range of skills: vocabulary, grammar, translation, comprehension, speaking and writing
- Support sheets provide additional scaffolding while extension tasks stretch the most able
- Includes full answers for easy self-, peer- and teacher assessment
- Starter and advanced packs available to suit different stages of the course and varying abilities
And with authentic texts, translation practice, relevant topical links and historical and cultural references aplenty, you can be sure you are preparing students for the expectations of the 2016 GCSE specifications. What better way to get pupils enthused about language?
What do teachers say about this resource? (6652)
It's well-made and very useful. The use of Spanish is impeccable and the exercises are very well-focused.
I particularly like the differentiated support than would allow weaker students to access the material and make the reading actually enjoyable. I really like the scaffolding of activities in the build up previous to the reading, the fact that it enables students to access and practice grammatical concepts, so that it is not only based on reading comprehension. Students would identify themselves with the characters and although it makes sense to read all 6, it is possible to use just one or 2 stories to fit in with the demands of the curriculum.
I liked the logical step by step/scaffolded/supportive grammar approach. It’s unusual to find a foreign language resource that students can use completely independently and I this enables them to work completely on their own. The initial skills to encourage them to look for cognates and work out meaning were good. It incorporates new skills such as translation in line with recent changes and the new GCSE exams.

Clearly laid out and with lots of good grammar exercises and challenging activities. If I had students that needed stretching it would make a great motivating resource.
