What do teachers say about this resource? (6645)
On the whole I liked this resource... Adopted a variety of approaches and was user-friendly... The resource enhances learning by breaking down the demands of the questions into manageable sections and giving the student plenty of opportunities to put newly learnt skills into practice. Its educational value is too back up what the teacher has said in class and it will be especially helpful to students who miss lessons or before mocks and the real thing... Layout was clear... It matches the specification excellently covering every type of question that could be asked.
This is an exceptionally well structured resource, which guides learners through the different styles of question, showing them clearly how to develop the skills required to answer each type of question cogently... The Top Tip circles caught my eye. Throughout there was a clear focus on how to deal with the demands of the different types of question... This is a really good resource.

A strong resource providing exam-style questions that are always needed, but which can be used to create a trail of work for students as formative assessment that is both accessible and academic too.
I liked how the resource provided examples with exceptionally clear explanation of what the board requires, I have never seen this explained so clearly, so it will be very useful.
It covers the specification rigourously and thoroughly and with great clarity. It provides a differing approach to rivals who lack its completeness. It explains terminology that might intimidate students in very clear terms.
It is expertly user-friendly as only a resource produced by an experienced teacher can be.
It matches the specification very well.
Very much a crash course in developing historical skills and those it teaches in abundance. It will enthuse the students about their assessment be it formative or summative in a way that very colourful textbooks cannot.
There is also an excellent and detailed mark scheme with detailed content information as well as clear explanation of skills required.
This will help the busy teacher to ensure that the students are being graded as in a real test. It will assist accurate predictions of grades no end. This is all in all an excellent resource.
Excellent structure and detail throughout the Resource; the activities have clearly been well thought out with the result that there is a nice symmetry between challenging students and showing them a way forward. It ensures that for essay answers students will be fully aware of the importance of writing a conclusion. The resource is a mirror image of the specification, which can be seen especially in the Practice Paper Questions.

I thought it was very good indeed, and concepts were clearly explained using pupil-friendly vocabulary. I would definitely use it, especially the exemplar answers. I liked that I saw all 3 question types on the same page as the interpretations – this is good for both copying budgets but also makes it easier for students to refer to interpretations. I would use this resource after teaching content – as exam practice in class and also as homework consolidation. It shows students how to clearly structure answers – I liked the sentence starters / guidance of what to include in each paragraph where students needed to write an answer. Liked that it was not too wordy, and chunking of text was avoided, but also activities were not spread over too many pages. [It matches the specification] very well - I especially liked the explanation of AO’s and command words – this would make a good first page in a student file that they could refer back to. I liked that timings and amount to write was referred to as part of this information. [Would you buy this resource?] Yes, definitely – in particular the exemplar answers are a great time saver as it takes me a long time to write my own.

This resource is a very good consolidation of the exam questions related to this unit. It has consolidated lots of key information and made it accessible for students. It is instantly applicable to a scheme of learning following this unit.… The practice papers are varied and show a good range of questions.… This resource would be extremely helpful for mock exams or ongoing assessments.… The exam questions have been very well replicated and the model answers seem to match the demands of the mark scheme very well.… A high quality resource that is well suited to the demands of the new GCSE specification.
The resource as a whole was very good, there are few resources in terms of example examination techniques, and therefore this resource will be very beneficial... A lot of the students are not aware/ do not pay attention to specifics such as AO1/2/3/4. The feedback from the previous exams shows that students are struggling with A03/A04, therefore to highlight and explain these in depth to the students is a very beneficial characteristic of the resource. I also like the explanation of command words, again the students often confuse the analyse/evaluate and often see them as the same term... Students often are unsure how to break down and tackle each type of question, so this resource is very valuable in simplifying the questions and breaking them down... The layout and presentation is very nice, it is clear and follows a clear structure... The resource is very well made, and covers all that the students need to know for their examinations and further helps them develop their examination skills.
