Excellent! The resource provides excellent literary texts to deal with the new element of the curriculum. The texts are at the right level and the pre-reading tasks will make them even more accessible for students. There is a great variety of tasks and they all encourage students to think for themselves and learn independently. I think they have the potential to really enthuse students as they see the level of text they can deal with. I also like that there is a range of literary styles included. This will also be useful when the new GCSEs are introduced.
Excellent - original and effective with well thought-through exercises. The author was able to write short stories which read like authentic material, have a good punch line/comic effect and will appeal to KS3 readers. This pack provides very good preparation for the new GCSE. Well done to the author
A fantastic resource which could be used by pupils working independently when they have finished other work, or completed as a class task. I like the fact that each text has a different style of questions before and after - some match up, some filling in, some translating.

I love this resource. It is definitely something I would purchase myself, having noticed a gap in the market for something like this. There is a huge amount of material, lots of choice of activity and the theme of gothic horror is both interesting and relevant to most year 7s I know. Each text is exploited extensively and the choice of activities is vast.

I thought it was an excellent resource, clearly laid out and with lots of good grammar exercises and short and motivating stories. It is a good and inventive way to motivate students of German. I liked the fact that the stories were original, motivating and imaginative and they can appeal to young teenagers, thanks to the dragons, princesses, treasure hunts etc. I also liked the grammar exercises, such as the Present tense , comparatives, finding the right meaning for some words from the text, etc. I like the use of glossaries with useful vocabulary to accompany each task and multiple choice questions etc.

I think this is a very useful resource in light of the KS3 changes. There is a real gap in the market for reading material which will engage a young age group. There is a good link to the topics with school and restaurant vocabulary. The exercises are created with an eye to the new skills required at GCSE for which pupils will require considerable training. Starting them young is the only solution!
