I think this resource is outstanding. It covers cultural topics and grammar principles. The proposed activities are interesting, authentic and creative. It also supports a huge variety of vocabulary.
I liked the fact that the stories were original, motivating and imaginative. I liked the vocabulary activities, the comprehension tasks and the grammar exercises. The translation exercises are also good as they comply with the new specifications and will therefore start preparing students for the GCSE exams.
I liked the stories- I wanted to read more! The stories were interesting and funny. Students will learn vocabulary in different contexts. I think this is really good, especially as GCSE exams are becoming more unpredictable. I like the fact that students also learn cultural aspects and they can work on grammar and on expressing themselves in Spanish by writing a poem, story or opinions.
I really like the fact that it works at word, sentence, paragraph and text level - and that the characters are linked, so it feels like a mini soap opera!

I have been looking for short graded readings in Spanish for a while. Unfortunately, I didn’t seem to find anything that would relate to the current KS3 curriculum. However, this resource has changed my luck! I am very pleased to have come across it since it provides an invaluable source of reading practice based on literary texts that students are bound to enjoy. I think this is a very good resource that any teacher should keep handy since it will provide endless moments of fun in the classroom while revising essential grammar and vocabulary, as well as being a source of inspiration and enhancing the pupils’ cultural awareness.
It presents students with a topic that is rarely found in textbooks, and that they find interesting, boosting their motivation. It also gives students a chance to consolidate and expand their vocabulary, and the opportunity to write their own stories, thus exercising their creative skills and giving them a chance to play with language. It can be used for self-study and in this way it helps developing students’ autonomy.
Me encanta el material. Es muy bieno en cuanto a contenido, ya que el tema elegido me parece muy acorde para jovenes estudiantes, además presenta peculiaridades de la cultura española.
I think this is a great resource to start introducing literature in lessons. The stories are engaging and a whole range of activities/texts included. It’s a fantastic way of stretching our more able students. It’s really useful to integrate literature (important element at GCSE) into KS3. It can also be used with other KS3 year groups such as year 9.
I really like it. I am using it with year 9 rather than year 8 as we are starting the GCSE now and it is useful to revise basic grammar points without feeling like you’re going completely back to basics/the start. Each text focuses on a different grammar point so it can easily be fitted into my SOW which is what I’ve done.
It can be used to prepare students to face literary and authentic texts well in advance of their GCSE course in a relaxed manner and can be used to build up the base of their literary vocabulary, understanding and expectations.

I enjoyed reading the stories and thought it would be a great resource for either cover work, independent learning or as a treat at the end of each half term. The stories increase in difficulty so it would be easy to demonstrate progress should an OFSTED or member of SLT happen to call in! The range of activities were appropriate for pupils to acquire the skills for the new style GCSE.
This is a very imaginative resource, accessible to all ability levels and carefully pitched to accommodate most Key Stage 3 learners.
The idea of learning the same key words repeated through different exercises is a good way for students to learn vocabulary. I like that there are different types of tasks - translations, true or false, matching words, word search, designing posters, etc.
I think it is really imaginative and a great idea.

An excellent resource, clearly laid out, with lots of good grammar exercises and original, imaginative stories. They will appeal to young teenagers, thanks to the time machines, mutant animals, aliens, etc! It is a good and inventive way to motivate students and allow them to have fun with Spanish.
Stories are gentle and written with a sense of humour... They build up in difficulty and support learning by pre-emptying potential fallpits for students.

I liked the fact that there was much variety – the texts were varied (stories, folk tale, poem, playlet) and the tasks were different (translations, opposites, creative writing, showing understanding via pictorial form, scanning for important ideas and details). The writing tasks were also varied and allowed for imagination. The resource enhances learning by allowing pupils to develop and extend their reading comprehension skills and range of vocabulary in a wide, relevant and interesting way. Teachers initially expressed concern at the PoS requirement to ‘read literary texts in the language’ but this task allows them to do just that! I also like how the resource is linked to typical KS3 grammar so that it can also be used as a tool for practising and consolidating this too.
Very good for the new curriculum at KS3, especially the new translation task! Exercises are all relevant, interesting and challenging.
