This is a unique resource – you will not find a better quality resource, and it is amazing value for money

G Bell, English Teacher & Customer (1st edition)

Perfect to help you plan a scheme of work, as the activities are “clearly structured and build up to the assessment” (K Greaves, English Teacher). Alternatively, all activities are linked to AOs so you can easily dip in and out to find the most appropriate activity for your class or for homework.

What do teachers say about this resource? (5506)

Loved how the activities were ready to be photocopied and used straight away in the classroom – this helped so much... Allows me to use [them] directly within my scheme of work and embed the resources... This is a unique resource – you will not find a better quality resource, and it is amazing value for money.

G Bell, English Teacher & Customer (1st edition)

Overall, an excellent resource, well written, stimulating, challenging and interesting... The well established use of the PEE (Point, Evidence, Explain) method of analysis helps students structure their answers to how and why particular aspects of the text/ story develop in the way they do....The use of questionnaires/True/False tasks at the end of many activities/tasks encourages students to read the text thoroughly and thus familiarise themselves with the various twists and turns...

J Robinson, Tutor & Peer Reviewer (1st edition)

Extremely comprehensive and informative. I particularly liked the introductory and cloze activities for each chapter.

J Selwood, Teacher of English & Peer Reviewer (1st edition)

I thought the resource was good. It includes a range of activities and teaching methods. There are sample essays to share with students and key terms are readily accessible. Work is clearly structured and builds up to the assessment... I like the Did You Know? sections on the activity sheets... It makes clear links to ... the relevant assessment for Edexcel... The creative writing and non-fiction writing tasks will appeal to students and enhance their learning... The links to crime fiction in our culture is something else I feel will further engage students and enhance their learning.
