What do teachers say about this resource? (5189)

A lot of effort has gone into creating a varied selection of activities across the entire English curriculum to match this novel. It is also pleasing to see a resource which is not afraid to give suggested answers, particularly useful for cover or for teachers new to the novel teaching it for the first time.

It has some interesting takes on the novel in the activities provided. It takes some very unique aspects and builds on them in the activities. It provides a varied selection of activities to suit various learning styles, teaching styles and abilities making it very versatile. It clearly focusses students on the APP crieteria making it clear for them to see what they need to do, as well as providing student level assessment criteria, making peer and self-assessment simple and easy.

The overall content of the resource was excellent. The resource offers support for teachers in administering the tasks and helping students get the most from them. The activities are fun and challenging, while meeting assessment criteria.

D Massey, Teacher and Peer Reviewer

I like the fact that this is a very cross-curricular resource, and that worksheets and tasks are flexible for a range of abilities. I was glad to see reference to Skellig as well.

E Evans, Teacher and Peer Reviewer

Overall I think the resource is very good as it provides a range of tasks which meet the AFs for KS3. The AFs targeted are clearly highlighted at the beginning of each task and there are APP grids which make assessment marking less time consuming. The worksheets provided are clear and easy to follow which makes them accessible to many students.
