What do teachers say about this resource? (4905)

Impressively comprehensive. I cannot imagine anyone needing anything else to teach this text. The structure is really helpful and clear and makes it very easy to use. Very thorough for AQA B pastoral, without neglecting other aspects of the text. Very easy to use this resource for any spec if this text is added onto it, or for 'free choice' coursework.

B Kemp, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

A very complimentary resource to accompany the book and specification. A very well put together resource and extremely useful for someone who is familiar with the text and those fresh to the text. The activities work well to help build and develop students understanding of the novel, the characters and the themes within it. Each of the focuses help to direct students to concentrate on different elements within the novel before looking at how they inter-relate within the whole text. It helps put the AOs into context and provides suggested learning/teaching points to help guide the teacher. The educational value is extremely high and it helps guide the teacher to lead the students through the novel as a sequential study as well as providing relevant suggested activities. It is something that will enable teachers to help students and improve students' understanding of the text.

J Forth, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

Very thorough. The sequential study at the start of the resource is a helpful 'way in' for anyone who might be less familiar with the novel or who hasn't read the novel for some time. The major themes (and, in this novel, genre itself is a theme) are dealt with in the 'whole novel' section really well; well enough, in fact, to provide a useful guide for undergraduate students of the text. A well-researched resource.
