Classroom ready, which is what every teacher wants to hear! This is a really valuable resource. I was impressed with the detail and diversity that this resource offered both for teachers and students. The range of wider reading was excellent and sensitively arranged. The extracts for comparison were sensitively chosen and accessible by all ability levels whilst the accompanying teachers notes would make planning with this resource very simple.
Clear and easy to follow, with clear thematic comparisons between texts. It helps students appreciate how literature reflects a wide range of feelings about WW1 and contextual influences upon the writing.
The strength of this resource is that it is looking more at skills than at content and this is crucial in success at AS and A2. I can see this being a resource where individual sheets can be given for homework and also where it could be placed on a "network" for students to work through as an independent resource.

I'm really keen on the teacher's notes following up each set of handouts and study sections. The extracts are all clearly signposted with titles, writers and page numbers where appropriate, without spoon-feeding; this is a great way to encourage additional investigation of texts. A Level students would be richer in many ways through this course.
