I really enjoyed this resource. On the whole it is well thought through and documented, providing the teacher with examples of resources and assessment focuses for each session
A good resource for lower ability sets, with an interesting subject. In a short module, aimed at lower ability pupils (or for EAL pupils of middle or higher ability, this covers several skills of reading and writing in an interesting way, making use of an exciting text. It has a focus on vocabulary enrichment, which I would find useful for English as an Additional Language pupils as well as lower ability pupils. A very useful short module which would increase the confidence of the pupils who studied it, as well as getting them to learn more of our literary heritage.
Good - some engaging activities well suited to lower ability pupils. Particularly liked focus on language activities eg. using powerful verbs, punctuation activities etc.
Strong focus on how language can be used to enhance writing. Thorough handling of Beowulf and makes it accessible for less able readers.
