A very comprehensive, detailed resource which carefully considers the barriers students may immediately encounter on their first reading of the text. The resource is well structured and well balanced in terms of the depth of information covered. The chapter commentaries are very useful with helpful analysis of imagery. I particularly like the fact alternative readings of imagery are included to encourage students to extend their discussion in essays.
This resource is incredibly comprehensive. The use of questioning in the introduction provides an engaging opening to this text. Similarly, the explanation of context and use of comprehension questions (with just enough reference to classical literature) is successful. The teaching activities / lesson plans at the back of the document provide a superb starting point for teaching and planning. I particularly liked the detail here and the detailed focus on the assessment objectives.
