A Critical Approach To Feminism in Frankenstein

A detailed explanation of feminism within 'Frankenstein' showing links between the novel and Mary Shelley's own life.

  • Relevant links between Shelley's biography and feminism in the text with supporting quotations.
  • Questions at the end of each section which encourage the students to think for themselves.

I particular like the clear layout and the questions at the end of each section which encourage the students to think for themselves

What do teachers say about this resource? (2115)

It is straightforward and easy to understand. I particular like the clear layout and the questions at the end of each section which encourage the students to think for themselves. By asking questions on the material, the resource is making students think and question what they have read. It also deals with some complex points in a clear, concise way... It includes some useful historical background and also sets up the context of feminist criticism well... The answers at the end of the booklet are an excellent addition.

H Nelson-Smith, Peer Reviewer

To the point and a good resource. It offers focused thinking points... Allows pupils to be independent.
