Writing in Different Styles KS3 SoW
Dragons is a scheme of work to fulfil the writing in different styles remit of the national literacy strategy. Students are taken therough a variety of different writing tasks, and because the theme remains constant it highlights the writing style they are using at each stage.

Thorough, relevant to the target age group, easy to use and interesting... makes the learning objectives explicit to student and teacher. Students can see the progress they are making.

The dragon theme and the activities would engage Year 7 pupils... The detailed links made to the NLS would reassure any teacher that s/he was meeting NC learning objectives
