What do teachers say about this resource? (12935)
I think that the resource was excellent as it had strong links to the demands of the the OCR A Level exam. I would definitely use it when teaching revision lessons but also give tasks for pupils to complete independently. I really liked the selection of Practice Questions provided and the use of sample answers were good. For the mid-level responses, activities were very useful such as labelling ways in which they could be improved, according to the AOs. This resource definitely enhances learning as it provided specific activities to consolidate understanding of characters, plot, themes as a refresher to those writing on Dracula for OCR. There was a particularly good activity called 'Looking at Symbolism' which would be useful for AO2. Huge educational value for those looking to look at exemplars and explore why pieces of writing have been awarded a certain mark band. The presentation was very good, particularly visuals such as pie charts were useful to highlight a breakdown of the assessment objectives for the exam. It matches the Specification well, particularly when it focuses on specific assessment objectives and provides lists of exam questions / exemplar responses.
Very enjoyable to read and I would definitely recommend to other Heads of Department who are teaching Dracula.
