What do teachers say about this resource? (12923)
An excellent resource, particularly useful given that Othello is set for first teaching in September 2025. It offers a methodical and comprehensive approach to the teaching of the text, supporting teachers and students. It would be particularly useful for ECTs as it offers well structured activities and well-considered model answers... An invaluable resource for any department moving to Othello in September.. Methodical approach applied to Act and Character Revision which will be really beneficial for students to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of the text. It’s also really good to see attention given to minor characters - given that any passage may be given in the exam, students need a full and holistic understanding of the text and all characters and the pack provides this. Such a comprehensive pack will be particularly useful in supporting students in the transition from GCSE to A Level. The focus on independent learning, with the majority of activities modelled, is of clear value meaning that this resource can be used both in and outside of lessons. It offers clear methods of consolidation for students to reflect upon their classroom learning, producing resources that will be extremely useful in terms of future revision... The model answers are a key strength, directly targeting and modelling the skills need to exhibit for the OCR specification. Similarly, the example questions provide a great basis for staff to build their own schemes of learning around.
An excellent resource. Very detailed and engaging. Lovely breadth of activities and very useful information too. This is an excellent resource - very well-structured. Content is superb - great to see such depth in a resource. Impressive range of tasks - lots of focus on exam readiness and development of skills and key elements to include. Focus on application of Aos is very clear. Great to be able to revise acts, characters and then themes, settings, motifs, images and language as well as considering the significance of form and structure too. Zooming in on dramatic techniques is very helpful, and good for students to think about. Role of performance history and critics will also boost attainment – excellent. Ending with sample questions is great. Focuses on all aspects of an A* response. Good to have sections directed at both teacher and student. Breaks down AOs very clearly. Increases in challenge with breadth of possible questions. Indicative content is excellent. Gives students ownership of the mark scheme and how to develop ideas.
