What do teachers say about this resource? (12807)
I was impressed by the comprehensive nature of the resource and the huge amount of detail. It certainly provides materials of an appropriate level. It was really detailed and showed a really good understanding of the skills required in A level Literature essay writing. It was well presented and included some interesting ideas which would provide useful teaching resources... It enhances learning by breaking up the different skills required for A level essay writing and helping students to see the different components. It has answers at the back which can be used as a class resource and as an independent learning resource. The tips pages are also really useful... Invaluable.
Clearly and effectively suits the purpose of the resource and will be of benefit for both students and teachers. There are plenty of examples and clear explanations that would be useful for teachers wanting to support students making the transition to A Level.
It enhances learning by showing students how to 'uplift' their own analytical writing while making clear references to the AOs. It also allows students to recognise how to include aspects of these into their own responses when they may have previously lacked development in these areas. The presentation and layout are well thought out with the breakdowns of sub-sections for specific areas of focus or skill sub-sets clearly indicated. The resource helps to build upon previous learning too as it approaches the essay writing methodically and looks are the most common areas that students can struggle with when writing at A level. It suits the specification as the resources suit the text and the question type that students would have to respond to in the exams with a range of exemplars looking at a variety of text types too, so students can see the advice applied across different texts. It interprets the specification effectively as it shows how to include coverage in their own essays to 'hit' assessment objectives effectively. The answers are clearly indicated so students can use the answers too and look at whether their understanding matches up. Students would benefit from seeing the skills broken down to a micro-level and consider their essay writing approaches, focusing on these in particular to then refine their essay writing process.
