What do teachers say about this resource? (12377)

This resource aims to support students and their teachers in making the challenging transition from GCSE to A-Level study. It does this in an organised and pedagogically sound fashion by linking the topics of Year 1 of the German A-Level course with the related topics studied at GCSE. I am very impressed with the care the author has taken with relating the A-Level specification to prior learning, i.e. vocabulary and grammar already encountered at KS4. This is particularly evident in the way it builds grammatical structures from GCSE level to the more complex and demanding concepts of the A-Level. I believe the resource will prove very useful to the student who wants to work through the pack independently, but will also be useful to the busy teacher as a top-up-resource before introducing the topics via to the A-Level text-book and other established teaching materials. I am particularly impressed with the consistency of the format which will help self-access learning as well as enabling the teacher to find their way to the particular topic or worksheet they are looking for.

I think this does exactly what it states. It supports students bridging the gap between GCSE and A-Level. I would happily give the first topic to prospective A- Level students to revise over the summer, which should make the start to their A-Level journey a lot smoother. I particulatly liked the choice of vocab and grammar for each sub topic. I feel that it mirrors what is needed at the start of Y12 very well and most importantly a lot of the grammar points that GCSE students struggle are being picked up, put into context well and the students are given a good chance to practice these skills.
