What do teachers say about this resource? (12304)

Excellent. Great resource. Original idea. Close, textual focus. Varied activities. Very detailed. Visually engaging. Lots of ideas, and really visual - great close focus on key themes, quotations and ideas. I like the essay planning using the 'backwards method' a lot - great for modelling thought and process, and unpicking the essay writing skills. Worksheets are great. Also the 10 key ways section is fantastic - great for ideas, and can be adapted to other texts too! Very clear and systematic. Great source of inspiration. Will have a positive impact on understanding - love the essay planning using the backwards method, and the ways in which a conceptualiser can be used in so many ways. Very detailed and well-planned. Very clear and systematic. Great source of inspiration. Very detailed. Will have a positive impact on understanding - love the ways in which a conceptualiser can be used in so many ways. Very detailed and well-planned. Actively models and unpicks the text and the essay requirements. Will extend the top learners, as well as scaffolding learning for those seeking the higher levels. Brilliant - conceptualiser resources are well designed, detailed and will generate lots of discussion. Very useful. Will prepare students for exam writing, and on a breadth of topics.

The idea for the resource is novel and worked well... The adaptive teaching ideas are excellent! This was the best thing about the resource... The conceptualised statements are useful. The indicative content is useful. The glossary is helpful to students... The layout of the PowerPoint worked well... The resource matches the specification very well and provides detailed analysis of the set text... Overall, an interesting resource which will save teachers a lot of time!

N Gradwell, Teacher & Peer Reviewer

This resource is superb and is very unique - I have not seen another Macbeth revision or teaching resource approach the text in this conceptual way... I think it is useful for students, and can consolidate an English department's subject knowledge... I really like the PowerPoint: it is interactive, it avoids cognitive overload and it could be given to students as a revision resource... As an examiner for AQA I would immediately be impressed if students organised their answers in terms of concepts rather than just retelling the story... The resource and accompanying guide is very clear to read for both students and teachers.

J Whitbread, Teacher of English & Peer Reviewer

A really useful and creative resource in terms of its connections to the exam and the accessibility it affords in navigating to particular scenes for the analysis of quotations... The AOs are clearly referenced in the teacher’s instructions and the resource is consistently focused on addressing these. The author has an excellent working knowledge of exam specifications and has produced a range of creative ideas to meet demands... As a teacher using this, you would feel confident in your use of this resource... Really useful suggestions for activities inside and outside of the classroom and I particularly liked the focus on empowering and challenging learners... A really interesting resource... It is useful to have a resource that helps you navigate key characters and themes in a time saving and less overwhelming way.

N Maloney, Teacher & Expert Reviewer

I'm so impressed with this resource that I would definitely buy it... I liked how the AOs were explicitly noted down for the quotations. It also showed examples of annotations for the quotes. I think this resource is definitely useful and valuable to all students and teachers... The presentation and layout is really clear and easy to read. I like the use of varied mind maps, etc.
