What do teachers say about this resource? (12169)
Offers a comprehensive view of the text and approaches it from a variety of different angles, which are engaging for students... I particularly liked the inclusion of discussion prompts and the answers which guide students’ responses to these prompts. The focus on character development is also useful to understand how human agency – a central theme of the text – is a driving force behind the plot. By foregrounding the resources in this way, the author establishes tangible links to the text. Additionally, AOs are sign posted throughout, allowing students to understand how their own knowledge reflects the expectations of their exam board. The clarity in this regard allows teachers to dip in and out of the text in order to revise specific skills... This resource enhances learning by matching closely to the assessment objectives and articulating clearly how it does so. It then deals with the novel as a whole text rather than approaching the assessment objectives as separate entities, which is in line with the marking advice.
