What do teachers say about this resource? (12116)
I loved this resource. It is clearly laid out, easy for pupils to understand and strong in the information displayed. Perfectly, and it's such a timesaver when it comes to switching between literatures.
I would definitely use this for teaching. It matches the specification well and as always the text/translation/notes/practice paper format is really useful.Particularly liked the way that the author talked the student through how to actually scan a line, as there are often assumptions made that this is a skill students have already or find easy. I also liked the summary of stylistic features at the start.
All in all a very solid teaching resource, and it does what it says. I like the fact that the set of questions are split between the specification lines, so that there are options for testing early on. I would use it with my students.
A really useful teaching pack with appropriate background and introductory notes.
Having the translation on the same page as the original text is helpful and the style and grammar notes are detailed and informative.
It also has a more contemporary approach than some of the older style text notes available in more traditional publications.
It matches the A level needs well with a scholastic and clearly developed guide to the text, its context and its relevance today.
What do teachers say about this resource? (12046)
I would definitely purchase this. On the whole I thought this was an excellent resource, as one has come to expect of your Classics materials. It enhances learning by providing everything necessary to approach the daunting task of studying a new set text, whether for student or teacher. Its educational value is to lead students on to a greater understanding, particularly through the manifold, well-chosen activities. It matches the specification superbly following the same logical order of lines and covering all question types.
What do teachers say about this resource? (12523)
I found it exceptionally easy to follow. It is filled with useful information, making complex topics accessible and understandable. Additionally, the material is well set out, with a logical progression that supports effective learning.
I particularly liked the references to scholars which historically I find the hardest aspect of the course for students to get to grips with (especially those on the lower end of the spectrum). This resource made the work accessible while giving an in for the higher ability students to do further reading.
It will be invaluable as a teaching aid, teaching booklet in lieu of textbook or a homework booklet. I personally would use it as a booklet for each student, which can be annotated as we go along.
[How does the resource match and interpret this specification?]
Perfectly! It mixes the core knowledge required per the specification while expanding on it for the higher ability learners.
What do teachers say about this resource? (12438)
Overall, a thorough exploration of the text, both in English and Latin.
It is a good support for them when revising independently.
