What do teachers say about this resource? (12128)

This is an excellent resource and I have changed my scheme of work for next year so that I can incorporate this into my teaching. Thank you. It has a lot of information, covering all the major parts of the specification, with good interweaving of English and Latin sources. I really liked the number of activities included. Sometimes, resources can be information heavy and activity-lite, but this resource has an excellent balance of the two. It covers the specification fully and adds additional sources. The sourcework can always be difficult, because I rely on the same additional readings over and over, so it's good to have this author's suggestions and opinions. [Would you purchase this resource?] Without a shadow of a doubt.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12044)

I would definitely purchase this. Its hallmark was thoroughness and it maintained a high standard, from the start, with the illustrations of Cicero, to the exam questions at the end, which rounded it off nicely. The contents were detailed and followed the usual reliable format of other ZigZag classics resources. It enhances learning by giving students of all abilities confidence, through following a consistent house style viz in the separate sections = Latin, translation, grammar and translation notes, then context and style notes. Its educational value is to stretch the more able by providing signposted extra material, while not overwhelming the less able. It matches the spec superlatively, with no omissions.

L Ashley, HoD & Peer Reviewer

On the whole, I like this resource. I think it is a thorough discussion of Pro Caelio and would function well as a resource to teach the entire topic. I like the amount of detail given in the resource. I feel there is enough there to stretch more able learners to the A/A* grades, while supporting the less able to achieve. I really like the line explanations, looking at the specific grammar and vocabulary in each line which could be easily overlooked. I feel that this encourages students to think carefully about the Latin they're reading and encourages deeper thought processes.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12437)

It is very thorough - the grammatical comments are explained in detail, which allows the learners to fully understand the point being made. Clear and concise summaries of the English section at the start and really detailed answers for the 15 markers in the mark scheme - gives the learners the confidence if revising independently to fully study their own answers.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12127)

I think that on the whole it is very useful. Tacitus is a difficult author and the translation seems to me to be both clear and accurate. I really liked the chapter headings, with brief summaries to outline what happens. It helps to shape the text in a student's mind.
