What do teachers say about this resource? (12017)

Amazing supplementary resource... Could be used for setting homework and for students who have missed a session. This would also be incredibly useful to NQTs who want to ensure that they are covering the specification and delivering the content in a structure manner... The Active Learning Tasks are a valuable addition... The resource can be used in the classroom as well as a revision tool to reinforce the student’s learning. It is differentiated well and easy to use. I particularly like the sections on the overarching themes, techniques and context which helps to tie everything in together... The amount of information for each poem is just right meaning that the students’ understanding will build up throughout the resource. Links with Other Poems is a very good use for a summary and linking to the rest of the resource. The use of the glossary and key word text boxes are good for revision... A valuable resource that can be used in a variety of ways. I would personally use the Active Learning Tasks to conclude a session leading onto homework... The resource is accessible for students so can be used in their own time... I believe this would be best used for guided revision and homework that follows a feedback session.

Very thorough and comprehensive. Eliot's poetry is very challenging to condense into a study guide, and the author has done an excellent job of identifying the main ideas without getting too bogged down... I liked the key box with definitions of important terminology. The active learning tasks were good and encouraged an individual interpretation which is important at A Level. The links with other poems means that students are encouraged to make connections... I thought the genre section was very well written and I liked the prompt to create your own definition of modernism - that would create a good class discussion... The range of topics means that there is a comprehensive approach to the poems... Very well matched to the specification... Students have to include reference to the significance and influence of contextual factors and there are a range of relevant context points included for each poem.
