A Level Edexcel History Topic Tests

12 thematic tests cover the entire A Level Paper 1 content, with three carefully structured levels to develop both knowledge and application:

Step 1: Factual Questions

Ensure students have a solid grounding in the required knowledge and allow weaker learners to access marks.

→

Step 2: Application

Thoughtfully scaffolded questions support students in organizing their knowledge into exam-ready structures.

→

Step 3: Exam Style

Shortened exam-style questions prepare students and test exam skills.

It matches the whole specification providing chronological as well as thematic coverage

L Ashley, HoD & Peer Reviewer
  • All tests fully cross-referenced to the specification
  • Detailed indicative content for quick and easy teacher-, self- or peer-marking
  • Ideal as end-of-unit revision or homework

What do teachers say about this resource? (10404)

A useful resource pack that asks questions to cover a range of historical skills. The tests build up from the lower level skills before ending with a higher 'essay' style question... I particularly liked the build up of the skills as you work through the test... As a teacher I would be happy to use resources such as this to test students at the end of units... It would be useful as an end of unit test as it provides a way for students to demonstrate their understanding of a topic. It is a good way to test knowledge... It interprets the specification well... A good resource.

A helpful resource, with a variety of uses. I particularly liked the idea of having answers separate and the teacher’s intro.... This [resource] would enhance learning by consolidating knowledge and also would develop basic essay skills, such as seeing both sides of an argument. Learning would also be enhanced by teachers monitoring scores and then giving feedback as well as helping learning of students who are being privately taught... It matches the whole specification providing chronological as well as thematic coverage, for example questions on 1625-9 test 2, to the Act of Settlement, 1701.
