This resource is superb... The writer obviously knows the play and the awarding body expectations extremely well and explains them clearly... I love the variety of types of activities and the way they are presented to the students... It is unbelievably accessible! I have never found a resource pack that is pitched at such a perfect level... I don't have any way that this resource could be improved... Very well done.
An excellent resource. It is very detailed and will help students to organise their revision and to revise thoroughly... It will be useful for students of a range of abilities... The attention to the text and to exam techniques is really useful... I liked the depth the resource explores. It is designed for students who have already studied the play, and this level of assumed knowledge makes the resource more useful as it takes students beyond a superficial meaning... Areas I particularly liked, were the section on minor characters, the focus on different types of tragedy, and the prose v poetry sheets. I also thought the exam section was excellent. There is a really good variety of sample answers or indicative content. Most resources just have one or two answers. I always teach introductions in lots of detail, but was pleased to see a section on conclusions - I would definitely use this... Revision is all about knowledge of the text, and also exam technique. I think it is a real strength of the resource that it covers both in detail. The focus on specific exam skills is useful (intro and conclusion) and students are encouraged to respond to a range of different questions... I enjoyed reading through the resource. It has made me excited about the prospect of teaching Othello again in September. While it is a revision resource, some of the ideas would also be useful for work during teaching of the play.
Thorough and comprehensive with a variety of activities - a useful starting point... A useful resource.
