This is a very well-designed and highly focused resource that provides good support for the new reading aloud component of the Edexcel GCSE Spanish speaking exam. Its structure is logical and thorough, building student confidence and skill in an area that will be unfamiliar to many. The integration of audio resources, clear mark schemes, and targeted practice makes it a valuable tool for both teachers and students.
I particularly liked its specific and dedicated focus on a single, new component of the exam, which is often an area of high anxiety for students. Including model recordings by native speakers is an essential feature, providing students with an authentic target for pronunciation and intonation. The "Pronunciation tip" boxes scattered throughout the units are excellent, offering targeted advice on specific Spanish sounds like the pronunciation of 'qu', 'r', and 'g'.
This would be an essential purchase for any school teaching the Edexcel specification. The reading aloud task requires specific practice that goes beyond general conversation skills, and this resource provides a ready-made, high-quality solution. The time saved in sourcing suitable texts and, creating authentic audio recordings makes it a very sound investment for any MFL department.

On the whole the resource was very well fitted to the GCSE Edexcel specification requirements to the read aloud task. It embedded the thematic contexts very well within the practice and allowed students to think about their SSCs in order to be able to successfully read aloud.
It compliments the exam, allowing students to repeatedly practise the skills needed, while also building on their knowledge of vocabulary. It is clear that all of the advice compliments the spec.
