What do teachers say about this resource? (12245)

Absolutely loved it! It was genuinely an exciting read! It is quite a skill to balance curriculum requirements with excellence and enjoyment! Well done! Really like that it sets out narratology, codes and conventions and industry terminology right at the beginning, demonstrating the academic nature and analytical tools required for what may seem like just a “fun” topic at first sight for students. It prepares them for professional discourse around a highly enjoyable and comedic media format. Easy to navigate, clear layout and presentation with a diverse range of activities... Love the student progress grid great for self-assessment. Key words are wonderful for understanding terminology and a handy pick up resource for teachers. The document is presented in line with the specifications for Media Studies, making all elements very clear to students... It includes relevant theories, appropriate and relevant industry terminology... Speaks loudly to many young people and adults, whom will feel like a previously unrepresented audience are being represented in today’s media society. This resource has interpreted this specification with skill, dexterity and creative thinking. It is so refreshing to find a resource that directly speaks to young learners through popular TV on so many levels! An opportunity for teachers to utilise comedy as a teaching tool, simultaneously broadening the potential of exam success for learners. Enjoyment whilst learning is a huge part of achievement. This resource provides the perfect occasion for that set of circumstances.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12246)

I believe the resource is excellent. It covers every area of the theoretical framework needed for this component and covers it comprehensively. This would be such a valuable resource to use for both homework and for class. I particularly liked the quiz at the end and and I also thought section on industry was particularly useful. All the information the students need is there in one place and set out so it is easily accessible. The resource has everything the students needs to know for this section of the Component 2 exam, including key terminology and theory. It will be so valuable for this section of the exam. This specification is very broad, so this resource caters for that and includes all the information needed, including focusing on analytical skills.

What do teachers say about this resource? (12247)

A comprehensive document that covers the entire range of set texts for study in Component 2B. It has some excellent tasks and resources that can be easily implemented into the classroom. There is a good range of visual categorisation of key terms and key theories. Matches the specification spot on.
