What do teachers say about this resource? (8902)

Very comprehensive and covers all the aspects of the specification. It is logical and follows the sequence of the relevant textbooks and revision guides. This would fit in with many departmental SOL as most teachers have followed this process / sequence when planning their curriculum journey. There are a variety of different exercises for the students to complete, and I particularly like that some of the Starters/ Plenary’s involve working in groups and teams. The variety of hands on exercises would be particularly useful at engaging under performing students, they would enjoy the competitive aspect of some of these tasks. The resources are straightforward and easy to follow. The task is clearly set out and includes the answer sheets for the students and a list of all the necessary equipment. The activities are fun and engaging. The resource can easily be adapted for homework’s or independent learning and doesn’t need the use of specialized equipment.

What do teachers say about this resource? (10976)

Detailed and comprehensive, with a variety of topics and styles of activities. I like that there is a large variety of topics covered and both starter and plenary activities for the topics that cause have the most misconceptions. The activities themselves are easy to understand and deliver to a teacher with experience and possibly an ECT also. I liked the symbols being used for time allowance for the activity and type of activity, this is good if you quickly have some extra time or what a timed activity for revision. Also great for planning purposes if you are being observed, also the learning objectives being included good. I like the fact that the resource includes very clear answers for self/peer evaluation and not just teacher marking/comment. I feel it enhances learning due to the variety of activity styles as all students have differing learning styles so caters for all. I also feel this would be a great recall set of activities as well as revision for KS4. It could also be beneficial as independent further learning for Key Stage 3 students studying DT. Educational value would be that the students reinforce prior learning or as an introduction to a new learning topic in an easy to understand format. The resource links clearly to the GCSE AQA specification, especially with the topic titles and reference page at the front a teacher can clearly pick out the area that they want to recap or carry out recall on easily.

What do teachers say about this resource? (9191)

A great resource to use from y7-10 getting them ready for the NEA. I like how some activities are short and focused to suit many aspects of the new specification. Easy to prepare and can be used to extend the learning of all students.
