I like the fact that this resource addresses the AQA spec accurately and gives plenty of opportunities for revision and exam practice... The resource gives a good grounding for teachers who want to teach the Baroque solo concerto in depth... It also provides stimulating examples for Section A (Listening) which students can use to practice their exam technique and further the knowledge of the genre.
The writing is very good – just right for A level students... The musical analysis is very good. There are clear examples and these are well presented... the author has not missed out anything I would expect when discussing the topic.
