A useful resource for both teaching and revision
Highly motivating! Brilliant for students who learn best by doing. Dramatically improves learning for weaker students.
Students read their textbook/notes to complete a grid of questions in exact specification order. Cross-referenced to the major textbooks to ensure structured study.
The exam preparation section also gives learners the chance to evaluate these concepts for themselves and to develop their skills in critical thinking, which is also essential for assessment questions in the exam

What do teachers say about this resource? (9525)
I thought the resource was very good... the layout was helpful and organised. I liked the answer section as this could save time and address peer marking or self assessment. This resource matches the scheme of learning perfectly. I think it covers the details given by OCR extremely well. The teacher doesn't really need to look much further for worksheets. The textbook by OCR can also be used alongside these sheets when completing them. I honestly would buy this resource as a department we have a certain amount to spend on resources and I believe that this would save lots of time and would probably have an impact on my A level teaching. I would also recommend it to colleagues in our other school.

I thought the resource was very good, very accessible and could be used for many different activities. It could be used to add to the learning at the end of a lesson, it could be set as homework or made into a revision session... There is a lot of scope for use and would add rather a lot to the lesson without the teacher spending weeks creating their own. This could be a real life saver as the A level course is rather large and there is lots to cover

Excellent resource. It can be used in two ways, as a classroom activity or as a revision aid
The layout is very consistent and easy to read from, which makes it a useful resource for both teaching and revision. The illustrations and activities are also very useful for visual learners. The completed learning grids at the end then give the learner the answers once they have completed learning. The ideas of all the key critical thinkers are also included, with pictures alongside them to make it easier for visual learners to engage with. The exam preparation section also gives learners the chance to evaluate these concepts for themselves and to develop their skills in critical thinking, which is also essential for assessment questions in the exam. The students can then check their answers, using the completed learning grids

Well written, clear resource… would save time for staff… and be useful for students… completed answers are very helpful, especially with a new specification… [I like] the clear links to text book pages for each grid [and] basic concepts/key words pages are very helpful. The variety of questions and tasks [are] useful… Clear and easy for staff and students to use. [I like that] the answers grids have biblical references to support learning… Student evaluation sections are good to support essay skill development… [this resource] is particularly good to use to consolidate learning at the end of a section of work or unit [but] it is equally useful for teaching the unit… Presented well, in a concise and clear manner… Interprets and supports the detail from the specification and the exam format. Has clear sections for exam skills and could be used for individual and group work tasks… I would use this and would happily buy the equivalent resources for the philosophy and ethics units as well… A very helpful resource for staff and students
Useful resource to use in lessons… Would particularly benefit students working at C grade or below… Particularly liked the pages that focused on critical evaluation and exam preparation… Useful tool for all students to develop analysis and evaluation of the arguments which… is key for exam success… Like that it gives suggested answers… would be useful for helping build students’ confidence… Allows [students] to check their knowledge and consolidate their learning. It is a useful check of understanding that could be used as a 'test' of knowledge to inform assessment of learning… Using tables works really effectively… helpful for students to organise their notes… Matches the core content very well, it covers all of the necessary topics with enough detail
Well-written resource. There are no issues over copyright so can be used as often as needed

I think that this resource matches and interprets the specification fairly well. The learning grids cover all the important content of Plato and Aristotle, the problem of evil, the existence of God (ontological, design, and cosmological argument) and religious experiences. The exam preparation questions are then carefully tailored to the OCR specification. It also lists the important thinkers for each topic, providing accurate illustrations to help visual learners
