This resource provides a great overview of the astrophysics option for students in a clear and concise manner. This resource combines theory, worked examples, exam tips, practice questions, exam style questions and mark schemes in a way that is logical and easy to follow for both students and teachers. This would be ideal to accompany students learning, as a workbook or homework/independent study booklet.
This resource would be helpful for ensuring that students do not fall behind especially as astrophysics is taught close to the exams. Each topic has clear and simple explanations that students can understand easily. This resource can help students to grow in confidence and feel ready to tackle the exam - perfect for bridging the gap between one grade and another.
I particularly like the telescope comparison with key terms highlighted in bold, this is a very helpful feature for students who find it difficult to take on lots of information at once. I also like the chapter checklists, each one of these is laid out clearly and logically and I like that they fit on to one page and have boxes that can be ticked off. Something as small as ticking a box on a check list can be really helpful for keeping students engaged with their revision.
The exoplanet detection methods are clearly explained and I like the way the spectral classes table has been presented and it specifically states that this must be memorised.
I think this resource matches the specification really well. I like how the specification has been checked to see exactly what students are required to know and then this has been laid out in a way that is simple and easy to follow. Lovely simple explanation of stellar evolution, not over complicated, just the exact vital pieces of information. This would really benefit students who are in-between grade boundaries or lower achievers. I like that binary stars have been included and explained in a very simple way, this is something that is usually missed from other resources. Again a very simple and clear explanation of Balmer lines and how this links into the astrophysics topic.

An excellent resource for the new specification for the new AS AQA Mechanics Physics section 4. A very good range of revision ideas and questions. Good and thorough testing. The principles of each topic has been well described for students to learn. Excellent qualities for use for revision purposes.
