What do teachers say about this resource? (12074)

This resource provides very welcome support for the development of strategies A-Level German students need to approach successfully the first part of the A-Level speaking exam, i.e. the Stimulus Card. Three of the eleven worksheets also give advice on how to tackle preparing for the Independent Research Project.
The resource can be accessed by students independently, as it addresses the learner directly with clear instructions and advice as well as providing an answer key at the end of the publication. It is also suitable for use in a whole class situation and will save the teacher preparation time as well as providing structured support for the development of an A-Level SOW with a focus on speaking skills.
The structured activities in this resource and the extensive range of different task types provide a valuable addition to the course book teachers would normally use. The pack does this in a very structured and methodic way and is therefore a valuable addition to resources teachers use to prepare their students for the A-level exam.

What do teachers say about this resource? (8389)

This resource effectively presents the requirements of the AQA A level oral examination, providing excellent examples of how to respond to the card through vocabulary and grammar exercises. It will also greatly assist the students in researching and presenting their IRP.

S Fleet, French Teacher and Peer Reviewer

Its logical progression through the different stages of the oral will give pupils / teachers a feeling of being in control, knowing that they understand what will happen in the exam and what they have to do to get a good grade. It therefore inspires confidence.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7397)

This resource gives students the tools to feel confident about approaching the speaking examination, giving them the language they need and lots of practice talking about the sub-topics. The translation exercises, which always use vocabulary from the sub-topics, also give them more practice in translation and in writing accurately for the other papers, so there is an educational value beyond the single skill of speaking.

Great resource. I like that the resource shows a step to step guide to tackling the speaking part of the A Level AQA Spanish exam. The resource covers a wide variety of cultural aspects of the Hispanic life within the A level themes and I like the fact that the texts are kept current and relevant. Similarly, I love the worksheet 5 about the IRP, as it gives lots of clear advice on how to prepare the IRP and then in worksheet 6 , exercise 2 I like the way students are shown examples of questions and answers related to a particular topic, but which some of the language used can be “recycled”and adapted to each candidate´s own IRP.

What do teachers say about this resource? (7589)

Really good, very comprehensive and user friendly. The resource is really helpful. It's comprehensive, exam-board specific and clear. It clearly shows how the exam works and there is a worksheet focused on each of the different question types, as well as the mark scheme. Lots of information and lots of activities for students to complete, as well as examples to listen to.

K Pabari, Head of German and Peer Reviewer

The chosen activities support the development of key skills needed for the oral exam. I particularly liked the activity on making broader points and opening up questions for debate using the PEE technique.
