What do teachers say about this resource? (6751)

I think this resource is very clear, well written and has good consolidation and starter activities at the beginning and ends of pieces... I like the starter activities particularly as it encourages students to do some investigation of the scores independently without being entirely teacher led, important skills for A Level music students... It helps our students by giving them an alternate resource for the set works, above and beyond the annotated scores that they do with us. The format of introductory questions and summative questions is really useful to keep students on track... It is very clear and concise without being too wordy and information overload... It's a really good additional resource for working with alongside of your teaching to develop and support student's analysis skills. There is also good assessment materials which can be used as in class assessments or independent revision.

It enhances learning by the amount of detail it goes into combined with the ease of use for both teacher and student. For teachers it clearly lays out each set work to help build lesson plans and ensure students understand everything required from each set work. Revisions summaries and exam questions consolidate learning very well.

A good introduction to the pieces... I liked the “Do It Yourself Tasks”, consolidation activities, and the fact that the resource deals with all six of the set pieces in a similar way, with clear musical examples to demonstrate the points being made. The analysis is good and clear throughout... It's great for teachers to have something to use when they're introducing students to these pieces.

Matches the criteria well, covering the prescribed material in appropriate detail. The inclusion of pictures is refreshing and the musical examples are clearly explained. I particularly liked the friendly, slightly informal approach which teenagers will hopefully find user friendly and encouraging without being condescending. The heuristically motivated ‘do it yourself’ areas, which are facilitated with appropriate analytic tools, are particularly refreshing as self-discovery tends to be both more fulfilling than 'prescribed' knowledge and can potentially lead to greater and deeper understanding.

Very good... Practice questions and answers are informative, well written and clear... Pitched successfully at the level students require. The author demonstrates very good musical knowledge and understands the specification very well.
