A very good resource... It gives a step by step guide as to how exam questions should be structured and what is expected of each question... Students are able to visualise exactly what is expected of them in their exam answers and understand each step... Very detailed for the price and matched to the spec – you can’t get this sort of material in a textbook! Buy this – it will undoubtedly help your exam practice and results!
It has a good, logical, clear approach towards exam technique. I liked that it clearly satisfies exam board requirements and explains these clearly for staff, the Inclusion of full mock exams, the exemplar answers showing where each mark was achieved, the focus on command words / pupil friendly instructions.... It provides step by step methods of teaching exam skills – would be very useful for trainees or NQTs. You could apply this to any topic for this exam paper. Would make good home learning tasks.
An effective resource for exam technique, particularly useful when studying the western front aspect of the paper! I particularly like this resource because there were 4 different specimen exam papers to use, with mark schemes which effectively lock down the assessments objectives.... A range of sources have been consulted to provide a varied, scaffolded resource.... I would encourage colleagues to use the resource due to its effective breakdown of the questions.
Very detailed resource with some excellent practice papers included... I like how each question is, at first, broken down into what it is about, and an example answer, building skills for the answer and lets the students have a go before marking the answer – every question has this and this is invaluable for building up their skills for the exam.
I really like the way in which each style of question for the new paper is explained thoroughly... I also really like the practice papers at the back. This would be helpful when it comes to mock exams and practice... Exam technique is vital for students in this day and age. I am an examiner and I really see the value in my lessons of preparing them for the type of questions they will get.
